Throughout her 29+ years as a professional coach, Amy has worked with a variety of skaters ranging from the STAR 2 to Gold Levels in all disciplines (Skills, Freeskate, Dance, Artistic) along with many competitive skaters at the Pre-Juvenile-Senior Levels. Amy has developed Sectional Medalists and coached skaters at the National and International Levels. In her amateur career Amy competed to the Novice Singles Level and achieved her Novice Competitive Freeskate Test, Sr. Silver Dances (passed 3 of 4 Golds) and 7th Figure. Amy has always worked hard to keep learning and has participated in countless mentor learning opportunities with Olympic, World and Master Coaches. Amy believes in teamwork and prides herself in supporting her skaters to reach the highest level possible. She is very excited to be working with the Cloverdale SC and is passionate about seeing it grow and prosper. When not at the rink Amy can be found camping with her family or riding her bike.

Her coaching philosophy is to make sure skaters are challenged, while also feeling proud of their efforts and accomplishments in skating. Over the years of working for the Cloverdale Skating Club, Coach Melissa has earned a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, and her Masters of Education in School Counselling.

Alexa started skating when she was four years old. She has skated for the last fourteen years and continues to remain active. She represented Zone 3 at the BC Winter games in Fort St. John in 2020, and has competed at numerous provincial championships up to the novice level in singles skating. She competed at three Canadian National Championships and was assigned an International competition in Sheffield on Junior and open synchronized skating teams. Alexa has also passed her Gold Freeskate, Gold Skills and Gold artistic assessments.
Alexa began coaching in the summer of 2022 and absolutely loves sharing her love for the sport with younger generations! She believes that all skaters have a place in the skating world!
Alexa is currently a student at Simon Fraser University. Her dream is to work for the Canadian Space Agency, while continuing to coach at Cloverdale, of course!
In her free time, Alexa enjoys playing electric guitar, gardening, and learning Italian!

Lauren has been part of the Cloverdale Skating Club since she began skating in 2008. She is NCCP CanSkate Certified and Regional Trained, working on completing her Regional Certification. She is also the Co-Coordinator of the club’s Canskate program. Lauren is a current Gold skater, she has passed her Gold Artistic and Gold Skills test and is working towards her Gold Freeskate test.
She is currently studying Psychology and Kinesiology at SFU, and has chosen these subjects to best help our club skaters prevent injuries and support their mental well being as competitors. She plans to be a lifelong figure skating coach and her education is selected to support this goal. Her Coaching philosophy is to always encourage skaters to try their best, to celebrate success and to take on challenges as opportunities for personal growth both on and off the ice.

Sandy is a Gold skater who has been with the club for 8 years and has passed her STAR 5 freeskate and elements, STAR 7 skills, STAR 6C dance, and STAR 9 artistic. She is an NCCP Certified CanSkate coach, a Trained Regional coach, and the Co-Coordintor for the CanSkate program. Additionally, she specializes in harness training for skaters working on axels/double jumps. Sandy's coaching philosophy is to provide a fun and safe environment where skaters can learn and develop their skating skills. To motivate, inspire, and guide each skater to set and reach their personal goals, making sure to constantly challenge each skater at their own individual skill level with encouragement and support.
Currently, Sandy is pursuing a major in Criminology and a minor in Health Science at Simon Fraser University and will begin her internship in Spring 2024. She enjoys music, fashion, and hanging out with her friends in her free time.

Rebecca is excited to learn and grow as a coach at the Cloverdale Skating Club. Coaching has allowed her to continue her love for the sport and share what she’s learned over the years with skaters who are looking to develop their skills. She finds a lot of joy in helping others achieve their goals, as well as helping them push their limits in all areas of their skating. She hopes to inspire skaters and be a reason they look forward to showing up to the rink.
Outside of the rink, Rebecca is studying at SFU Beedie School of Business. She also enjoys staying active, reading, spending time in nature, and is always open to exploring new hobbies.

This combined with her knowledge of anatomy and physiology fosters her passion for educating skaters and all athletes with healthy stretching for the capacity to keep their bodies healthy and supple which helps prevent injuries and strain. By combining her expertise in yoga with her love for maintaining a healthy body, she is committed to helping our club members improve their performance, prevent injuries, and find a deeper connection between mind and body. She looks forward to the opportunity to contribute her skills to our skating club and hopes to empower skaters to reach their potential both on and off the ice.
