All figure skating programs are taught in both group and private lesson formats.  They teach skaters the fundamentals of basic skating skills, stroking, spins, jumps, dance, creative movement and performance skills.

Please speak with our Director of Skating, Coach Amy Richard, for information as to what skates you should purchase your child. 

Skates and blades are individual based on the skaters' skill level, goals and size, and it is imperative to skater safety that the correct skates are selected.


Skaters wear practice attire - no baggy attire, leggings or a skating skirt recommended.

The Schedule and Registration is open, please visit our registration page for full details!  All fall and winter sessions will take place at the Cloverdale Arena. 


It is recommended that all skaters in our Bronze - Gold sessions skate a minimum number of days based on their goals. Please speak with Coach Amy for recommendations for your child.


Sessions fill quickly, please watch your inbox for registration details and do not delay, ice placement is first come first served.


Figure Skating Programs OFFERED at CSC

· Working on all single jumps

· Working on basic spins (Sit/Camel Spin/Back Spin)

· Skaters are competing at the STAR 2 or entry level STAR 3


· Skaters must be consistent in landing a Lutz & Loop + Loop demonstrating a strong understanding of technique

· Skaters are working on an Axel

· Skaters are competing in STAR 3

· Skaters must be able to do a Sit Spin in correct position


Skaters must have strong independent practice skills


 · Skaters must be able to land an Axel (or be very close)

· Skaters must be able to do a Camel + Sit Spin

· Skaters must have strong independent practice skills and ice awareness

· Skaters are competing at the exit level of STAR 3 or Entry STAR 4


· Skaters must be able to land an Axel on a big pattern.

· Skaters are working on double jumps

· Skaters must be able to do a Camel + Sit Spin and be working on Flying Camel.  

· Skaters have good ice awareness and good ice coverage

· Skaters are competing at the STAR 4 Level.


 · Skaters must be able to land an Axel

· This designation is for our part time skaters who skate 1-2 days per week.


 · Skaters must be able to land an Axel

· Skaters must be able to land one double jump at quarter or less.

· Skaters must be working on multiple double jumps

· Skaters must be able to do a Flying Camel Spin

· Skaters must skate with speed and have strong ice coverage and be aware of others.

· Skaters are competing at the STAR 5+ Level.


· Skaters must be able to land a minimum of 2 different double jumps.

· Skaters must be able to do at least 1 difficult spin variation

· Skaters must demonstrate good speed and excellent ice awareness

· Skaters are competing at the STAR 6+ Level.


 Skaters must be able to land an axel or have passed at least 1 STAR 6 test in Skills, Dance or Artistic. 


***Director approval required for all skaters not competing in STAR 5 or higher.  

(Approval not needed for skaters with at least 1 STAR 6 test passed)  


 Strength & Flexibility (Bronze-Gold)- Skaters will work to develop flexibility in their shoulders, back and hips which is necessary for figure skating positions.

Musicality & Movement (Bronze-Gold)- Skaters will work on their movement and coordination through various forms and genres of dance.

Dryland Jumping (Bronze-Gold)- Skaters will work on rotational exercises, positioning and skating specific movement patterns which are essential to be technically proficient on the ice.
